LOIMOS

LOIMOS is a simulator of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus. It is a computer simulator completely developed under the paradigm of membrane computing.

The simulator was developed by a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Fernando Baquero (IRYCIS) and with the participation of the Universitat Politècnica de València, FISABIO, the Universidad de Valencia and the biotech company Biotechvana led by its CEO Dr. Carlos Llorens.

LOIMOS was awarded as the “Application of the year 2021” by The International Membrane Computing Society (IMCS).

LOIMOS has given rise to various scientific publications:

1. Simulating the efficacy of vaccines on the epidemiological dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 in a membrane computing model. Marcelino Campos, José M Sempere, Juan C Galán, Andrés Moya, Rafael Cantón, Carlos Llorens, Fernando Baquero. microLife Vol. 3, uqac018. 2022
